TVNZ apologises for sex advice - 24-Dec-1995
TVNZ has apologised for an item which offered tips on selecting and using condoms, and included advice on appropriate measures for anal sex, that screened on "Really Living".
The apology was a result of a complaint by John Jamieson, of the Christian Democrats, which claimed that the programme was irresponsible and offensive during family viewing time.
Noel Vautier, TVNZ company secretary, said in a letter to Mr Jamieson, that TVNZ considered the item on condoms acceptable, but agreed that the reference to anal intercourse was in breach of a broadcasting code on taste and decency. He apologised for TVNZ's failure to comply with the code.
