Mr Khan told the court on June 25 last year his client and the deceased, Zulfikar Saizad, were gay and lived together.
He said the men returned from Bollywood nightclub and argued. The deceased blamed the accused for stealing his money and threw a vase at his client who took the same vase and threw it at the deceased.
There was a scuffle and his client wrestled the vase from the deceased and hit him on the head with. When the deceased passed out, his client tried to wake him but to no avail.
He said Pratap and another man took the deceased to hospital where he later died.
Mr Govind adjourned sentencing to Thursday.
A LAMI carpenter has been ordered to do 120 hours of community service for verbally abusing a police officer and resisting arrest.
Viliame Gauna, 25, was drunk and yelling at the top of his voice in Lami town at about 4.35pm on January 1 when he was approached by police.
The officer was verbally abused and when he tried to arrest Gauna, the accused struggled.
He was eventually overpowered with the help of another officer and taken to Lami Police Station.
