Pride Centre Case comes to a close - 21-Dec-2007
Martin van der Reit who had been guilty of committing fraud at the Auckland Pride Centre in 2003/4 was sentenced to 30 months jail in the Auckland District Court on Thursday.
The victim impact report identified the harm caused to the Pride Centre forcing it to close it's doors.
The Pride Centre in a statement said "the last three and a half years has not been at all easy for any of us and the journey has taken its toll on all of us individually. Edward Bennett is in particular to be commended for weathering personal abuse over this issue as well as threats of physical violence."
