Grey Power Members are appalled that Pharmac is defending its decision to fund condoms in all colours and flavours to get a better "Health Outcome".
Grey Power recognises that there are legitimate health reasons for funding condoms in some instances, but can't see the need for them to be flavoured or coloured and available to all. Surely, it would be better to fund twelve month courses of "Herceptin" for breast cancer patients or perhaps fund a humble cough mixture to help people remain in better health. There must be many other uses for the Health Budget than funding "Flavoured Condoms" and a better health outcome would be achieved by the government removing GST from food and lowering electricity charges.
