Beverley's husband Bryce was gay at a time when it was illegal. He didnt begin to deal with his sexuality until he was diagnosed with HIV. His son Josh was eight when his dad died.

Today Josh is out and proud. Hes also an advocate for safe sex as one of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation's Safe Sex Poster Boys and together he and Beverley are helping combat the stigma and discrimination around HIV. Josh has become the man his father couldn't be and Beverley couldn't be more proud.
